About 1.8 million Venezuelans have migrated to Colombia.
Despite numerous mental health challenges, migrants lack access to evidence-based services.
Approximately 7 million Venezuelans have left the country in the past seven years; approximately 3 million have arrived in Colombia [51% women and 49% men].
As of 2020, there have been 66,637 recorded live births among Venezuelan women. In 2017, 1,256 children were born to Venezuelan mothers.
More than half of Venezuelans in Colombia lack legal status, making it difficult for them to access essential services, protection, and assistance.
The mental health workforce in Colombia is limited, and services are difficult to access.
In Colombia, 44.2% (7.753 million) of households are headed by women.
In Colombia, 43% of the population is single, 28% is in a common-law union, and 10% is divorced. Almost half of Venezuelan migrant women are single, and only a quarter of them are married.

Life-Changing Results
Over 9,500 households are impacted by this collaborative program, which began as an academic research initiative in Rwanda in 2011. Working hand in hand with the community, it was adapted to meet the local needs of Colombian families in 2023.
